world at large

From trekkies

ice age,

From trekkies

heat wave,
can't complain

From trekkies

if the world's at large why should i remain?

From trekkies

walked away to another plan
going to find another place, maybe one i can stand

From trekkies

you don't know where and you don't know when

From trekkies

but you still got your words

From trekkies

and you got your friends

From trekkies

walk along to another day

From trekkies

work a little harder, work another way

a funeral dressed as a birthday

a more perfect sorrow

my brother, wanderin' the tall grass

it's okay to run we expect you back

know how to climb a tree
i assume you do

i admit it
man, i'm not as sharp as you

oh, but i know
its still a war down there

and if you gotta go

safe travels

a thousand different versions of yourself

years ago someone painted a cutsie little byu m&m on the top floor window of the house we live in. no one liked it. it served little purpose. the artists have long since moved out, but out of indolence or passive veneration for the university the cutsie m&m remained. we talked for months about how we would enthusiastically remove it if the people who now live upstairs ever moved out. yesterday they turned in their keys. today we went to work. this is monumental - we are changing the guard, we are spitting the soured milk.

and if the old guard still offend
they got nothin left on which you depend

so enlist every ounce
of your bright blood
and off with their heads

jump from the hook

you're not obliged to swallow anything you despise

see, those unrepenting buzzards want your life
and they got no right
as sure as you have you eyes
they got no right

safe travels

my brothers dreaming of a new land
where the rivers wind through the villages

and the people breathe so easily
all the reachin' trees go the same way

don't have to go
i know you know you know
but if you gotta go

safe travels

hold me like you used to...

From yeasayer

thank you sleighbells and yeasayer. it was a great show.

sparks

the day i met you i went mad

the trees and the buildings all blew up

sparks they flew into the air

lightning flew from your hair
